The Monmouth-Roseville Titans traveled to Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School for their class 2A sectional semifinal against the sectional host Chiefs on Tuesday night. No team led by more than four points throughout the game and the Titans held a lead at the end of the first 3 quarters. Senior post player Brianna Woodard would foul out early in the fourth quarter. With Woodard off the floor, the Chiefs would make a run and go on for a 41-38 victory. Tatianna Talivaa backed up her 29 point effort in the regional championship game with 19 points on Wednesday night to lead Monmouth-Roseville. Freshman Layla Katile was also in double figures for the Titans with 11. Woodard, who averages nearly 18 points a game, was saddled with foul trouble throughout the game and finished with five points. The Titans end their season at (23-11). It was the final game for head coach Scott Weber. Weber ends his 7-year varsity coaching career with 144 wins.

Dee-Mack junior standout Dalia DeJesus was held to 13 points, 5 under her season average. Dee-Mack, the #6 team in the final regular season AP Poll, is (31-3) overall. The Chiefs will take on (30-4) Peoria Notre Dame in Thursday night’s sectional championship. PND had no problem with BCC, winning 65-28.

Monmouth-Roseville head coach Scott Weber, who also ended his final year of coaching with the loss, said on the WRAM Morning Show on Wednesday that he couldn’t be more proud of his girl’s efforts last night.
