Two Arrested for Abingdon ATM Burglary

On February 20th 2025, Knox County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a burglary to a drive up ATM in Abingdon IL, where a false key was used to open the ATM and corrupt settings to withdraw large sums of currency.

Investigators obtained surveillance videos and further information linking the suspects to multiple ATM burglaries all over the state of Illinois and many other States within the US.

Information gathered led Detectives to making an identification for the suspect vehicle and possible suspects.

Detectives were able to utilize multiple resources to ultimately locate the vehicle in motion and potential locations.

On February 22, 2025, information gathered led Detectives to Havana IL where co-agency communication resulted in a successful apprehension of two suspects and the suspect vehicle in question.

Suspects in custody :

Marol Maglui Aguiar Rodriguez- H/M – 20 Y/O

Leandro Magdiel Bordones Villegas- H/M – 26 Y/O

Charges: Burglary to Building, Criminal Damage to Property $500 to $10,000,

Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Damage to Property,Theft $10,000-$100,000

This is still an open investigation with other potential suspects still at large for similar criminal activity.

We would like to recognize assistance from Springfield Police Department, Peoria FBI Office, Mahomet Police Department, Avon Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Mason County Sheriff’s, Havana Police Department, Woodford County Sheriffs Office, and Lasalle County.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
