The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is offering their annual scholarship to a local student who is planning on attending a college or university in Illinois.
“One of the things that the organization does, the ISA, is provides annually scholarships. That means one student in every county submits to the local sheriff’s office and then out of those applicants, one person will be chosen. You must be attending a school in Illinois, so once you graduate high school you have to be attending an Illinois college. What degree you are looking for or even what college it is, is really not a consequence, it is just simply a merit-based award.”
The deadline for applications is March 15th for Warren County students. In addition to the scholarships, Sheriff Edwards says the new President of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association is McDonough County Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout.
