The new Warren County Law Enforcement Center will be breaking ground this Spring and is anticipated to open in 2026 according to Sheriff Martin Edwards.

“One of the things that we have to concern ourselves with is increasing our manpower. That is an absolute because of how it will be run. If we open the jail in 2026, that is going to eat a portion of the budget for that year and of course the one coming. We will start Fiscal Year 2026 budget preparations for the county sometime this summer. We are already at the point where I am going to have to start making some forecasts on what we are going to need to operate.”

Sheriff Edwards says the County will need a minimum of 6 new employees for the new center and he is encouraging candidates to apply now for those positions. Currently two deputies are in training and upon their graduation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office will be fully staffed in the current jail and on patrol. The website for applying for the 6 new positions is located at applyinhttps://warrencountyil.gov/offices/sheriff/.
