It is grant season with the Community Funds of Alexis, Knoxville, Monmouth, Roseville, and Williamsfield. Galesburg Community Foundation Director of Grants and Programs, Jillian Isaacson, shares who is eligible to apply:
“All public charities that serve those five communities of Monmouth, Alexis, Roseville, Knoxville, and Williamsfield, so if you are a 501C3 or another 501C designation, also any government agencies, schools, or religious organizations are eligible to apply. If an organization does have any questions on if they are eligible, they can always reach out to us at Galesburg Community Foundation.”
Also open for applications are the Teacher Mini Grants, explains Monmouth Community Fund Advisory Board Member Trevor Davies:
“That is a great opportunity that we have worked with the Roseville Community Foundation, with the Monmouth and Roseville Community Foundations working together to grant Teacher Mini Grants to teachers at the Monmouth-Roseville School District. Last year we were able to give two $500 grants out to teachers for things in their classrooms. We are very glad and want to help our teachers. Our teachers do so much for our youth and our communities. We want to be able to assist them as well.”
Applications for the Community Fund Grant Cycle and the Teacher Mini Grants are due by March 21st.

From March 3-21, nonprofit organizations in Alexis, Knoxville, Monmouth, Roseville, and Williamsfield are encouraged to apply for community grants at yourgcf.org/communitygrants.
These grants are possible because of the Community Funds in each town. Initiated by Galesburg Community Foundation and developed by local residents, Community Funds are built through gifts from individuals who love their communities. They are guided by local advisory boards empowered to award grants that positively impact their communities and residents.
All 501(c)(3) nonprofit or public charities, including churches, schools, and government agencies, are eligible to apply. Grant recipients will be notified by May 1.
Examples of projects funded through Community Funds include museum repairs in Alexis, diaper & period product distribution in Knoxville and Monmouth, accessible bathrooms for the community center in Roseville, and an air conditioner for the food pantry in Williamsfield.
“We are excited to support the incredible work being done by nonprofits and educators in our communities. These grants directly reflect the generosity and commitment of local residents who believe in the power of investing in our future. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these projects will have on Alexis, Knoxville, Monmouth, Roseville, and Williamsfield community members,” commented Jillian Isaacson, Galesburg Community Foundation Director of Grants and Programs.
In addition to community grants, Community Funds, and other cooperating funds are supporting local teachers by offering mini grants to enhance the classroom experience. From March 3-21, teachers in the Knoxville, Monmouth-Roseville, United, and Williamsfield School Districts are encouraged to apply for mini grants at yourgcf.org/teachergrants.
Educators in the region have used Teacher Mini grants to purchase books, flexible seating, musical instruments, science equipment, and other resources.
