Following the firing of Iowa Hawkeye men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery on Friday, a second Iowa basketball player with local ties has entered the transfer portal. Sophomore guard Brock Harding, who won a state championship at Moline High School, is entering his name into the transfer portal. Harding released a statement early Monday. In two seasons with the Hawkeyes, Harding averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 assists per game. Harding was a part of the 2023 recruiting class that included Moline high school teammate Owen Freeman. Freeman also entered the transfer portal over the weekend. Harding started in 24 of his 33 appearances this past season. Harding and Freeman have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
