The Western Illinois Women’s Basketball team was selected as an at-large bid team for the 2025 WNIT Tournament on Sunday night after appearing in the OVC Tournament Semifinals a week ago.

The WNIT tournament consists of 48 teams, with 31 teams receiving an automatic berth. The 31 teams consist of one team from each of the NCAA Division I Conferences in the nation who finished the highest in their regular-season conference standings and were not selected to the NCAA or WBIT tournaments. The other 17 teams are filled by the top teams available at the discretion of the WNIT committee and must have an overall record of .500 or better. The Leathernecks are set to host the first round of the WNIT against Lipscomb on Thursday, March 20, in Western Hall. Tipoff is set for 6:00 pm ET. The Leathernecks will find out more information on opponent and time tonight, Monday, March 17, when the full bracket is released. For more information on the full WNIT field, click here.
