The Monmouth-Roseville High School Performing Arts Department will present their spring musical, ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,’ which is based off the 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, this coming weekend in the High School Auditorium. Senior Matthew Blackford, who plays one of the lead characters, shares the plot:

“’Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,’ so I play the character of Lawrence, the lead character. I sort of play a conman who takes another conman under his wing and tries to teach him the ropes, though it may go awry a couple of times. This character Freddy, who is played by Drew Carlson, we butt heads at some point, and we decide to make a bet for who gets to stay in the town and con there. So, we pick out a character named Christine, played by the lovely Liv Rogers, who we have to extract $50,000 from her and the first one to extract said $50,000 get to stay in the town.”

Tickets for the production are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children six and under are free. Performances for ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ will be at 7 pm on Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd, with a 2 pm show on Sunday, March 23rd.
