Pet industry leader Candace D’Agnolo, founder and CEO of Pet Boss Nation, is making a significant return to running a brick-and-mortar store with the spring opening of Dante & Dory’s: A pet destination in downtown Galesburg, Ill. located at 354 E. Main St.

D’Agnolo brings unparalleled industry expertise to this venture. Her journey from struggling pet retailer to successful entrepreneur culminated in selling three brick-and-mortar pet businesses in a multi-seven-figure combined exit to industry leaders Bentley’s Pet Stuff and Destination Pet. By age 30, she was running three pet businesses with 27 employees. After overcoming $400,000 in debt, through strategic mentorship, she transformed her operation into a multi seven-figure business with diverse revenue streams.

As founder of Pet Boss Nation, D’Agnolo has coached nearly 1,000 independent pet business owners across the United States, Canada, and Europe, helping generate an estimated $765 million in the pet industry through her signature programs: Pet Boss Club, Pet Boss Nation University and Pet Boss Mastermind. Today, she is a sought-after speaker and consultant, sharing her expertise at major pet industry trade shows and events.

This groundbreaking 14,000-square-foot premium pet experience will offer an extensive range of premium products for dogs, cats, and a small animal selection. Named after D’Agnolo’s two rescue Pomeranians, Dante & Dory’s will feature professional self-washrooms, an open play space designed for rotating dog play exhibitions and events, and a full-service grooming salon designed not only for pet services but also for educational classes, workshops, and professional certifications. The store will also be the national headquarters for Pet Boss Nation classes and retreats.

“With no other mom-and-pop pet supplies and self-wash facilities in the county, we are positioned to capture significant income into our local economy that would otherwise be lost to online giants and big box corporations, while providing essential services to our community,” says D’Agnolo.
