Warren County Public Transportation is expanding to Mercer County, giving riders the opportunity to make medical appointments in the Quad Cities Area, shares Director Morgan Lewis:
“This is good for Warren County because this adds a streamline straight up to the Quad Cities for medical appointments, which before was going to be a little bit more difficult, but it adds more flexibility, lets us expand our program, and really open some more doors for us. Right now, we have fifteen vehicles, and we have about twelve to sixteen employees. With this merger, our fleet size is going to grow to about thirty-one vehicles. Granted we are planning on putting a couple up to bid, a couple of our older vehicles, just to cycle them out, but we have eight new busses coming for Warren County, as well as four brand new minivans for Mercer County. This will pretty much double our fleet size in operation.”
Lewis explains that Warren County Public Transportation is a federal and state funded operation, with a total budget of $1.6 million between the Warren County grants, Mercer County Grants, and Medicaid partnership.
