As the temperatures warm up, it must mean the end of another school year is in sight. The students at Central Intermediate School in the Monmouth-Roseville School District are counting down the days to summer and that transition to the next grade. Principal Andrea Frieden says the staff at Central prepare those students for junior high and high school:
“Central is 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. We have a great staff that keep our kids engaged in their learning. It is an awesome facility, and we have the opportunity to introduce kiddos here to band. We do bucket drumming; they are introduced to choir chimes; I just love that our music department reaches out and gets them involved in music. It is even kiddos that aren’t enrolled in band that get to enjoy that side of music. Some of the things they get to start doing before they reach junior high and high school. We have lots and lots of extra people beyond our five classrooms of each grade level that help support our students with our English Language population and supporting all of our kiddos. I think we are up to 26 different countries.”
