Story by Parker Cassidy
Coltin Quagliano, a graduate of Wethersfield in 2021, is now playing in his third season with the University of Illinois Fighting Illini Baseball squad. Quagliano started his career at Illinois Central College in East Peoria where he went nuclear his freshman season batting .413 with 3 home runs and 57 rbi’s. After one season with the Cougars, Quagliano transferred to the University of Illinois where he has spent the past 3 seasons, appearing in 128 games in that time. The Fighting Illini Baseball team made their way to Peoria last night for a matchup with the Bradley Braves. Our own Parker Cassidy got a chance to talk with Quagliano before the game, about his return to Dozer Park.
In his return Quagliano went 1/3 at the plate with a walk, while making some great plays at second base. The Fighting Illini take down the Bradley Braves 5-2. Illinois will be at Rutgers this weekend for a three game series.
