A single vehicle crash west of Victoria Sunday evening resulted in a fatality. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 5:12pm on Illinois Route 167 and Knox Road 1650 East. The vehicle was traveling eastbound, crossed the roadway into the north ditch and struck a fixed object, resulting in airbag deployment. The driver was found deceased at the scene.
The Knox County Coroner, GHAS, and Victoria Fire also responded to the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The accident is under investigation.
