New entrepreneurs have joined the community on the Public Square in Downtown Monmouth. John and Robin Avery and Lonnie Avery are the new owners of Avery’s Pub, formerly known as the Varsity Club. Owner John Avery shares the atmosphere of Avery’s Pub:
“At Avery’s Pub, our motto is that ‘we want you coming in with a smile and we hope you leave with a bigger smile.’ We don’t have loud music unless you want it loud. We will play any sort of music you want, but country is the number one music station that we put on in there. Safety is a number one priority in our bar. That is why you will see that most of the time on the weekends that myself, my wife, and everybody is in the bar to keep an eye on things. Usually, every Sunday we will drum up some food and it is free, of course, but we want your business, and we want you coming in and leaving with a full stomach too. We have added a few new games, we have three pool tables now, and we are going to have one new golf game.”
Avery’s Pub is located at 83 Public Square in Downtown Monmouth.
