On Thursday, April 10th, the Regional Office of Education #33, OSF HealthCare, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are teaming up to host a Car Seat Safety Check Event. Pre-School Family Educator Rebecca Petentler has the details:

“It is a Thursday. It is at OSF in Galesburg at St. Mary Medical Center from 4 to 6 pm. We chose that time frame to hopefully accommodate as many working parent schedules as possible because we know that car seat safety is very important, and we want to be able to have as many people there as possible. I always say, you don’t what you don’t know and even though all the car seats come with a manual, it can still be really, kind of tricky and confusing, so that is why we have certified technicians to help clear up some of that confusion.”

The certified technicians on-hand at the Car Seat Safety Check, which is open to everyone, will inspect your child’s car seat, look up any possible manufacturer recalls, and ensure proper fit of the car seat based on your child’s age, height, and weight.
