Papa’s Bar and Grill has approached the Monmouth City Council for TIF financing eligible funds for renovations, states City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher:

“They have plans to do some improvements at their restaurant, including replacement of the concrete parking area that is on the north side of the building. Also, some exterior repairs to the siding as well as the metal fascia and gutters. They also have some interior work. They need to remove a portion of the flooring to gain access to replace an old sewer line and then of course the carpentry work to seal the floor. The total cost of that project is right around $24,000.”

Monmouth City Council did approve a Redevelopment Agreement with Papa’s Bar and Grill, which will be a performance based traditional TIF agreement where future incremental increases in their property tax revenues will be used to reimburse the business for the improvements.
