New Veterinary Services Opens its Doors in Media

Pet owners in Western Illinois have a new reason to wag their tails as Hometown Veterinary Services opens its doors. Located in Media, Hometown Veterinary Services is a mixed animal practice offering services both in-house and on the farm says owner and veterinarian Sydney Hennenfent.

“We will have a haul-in facility for large animals, so bring us your cows, bring us your bulls, bring us your horses,” says Hennenfent. “We also have a small animal clinic- it will have a surgery suite, x-ray capabilities in-house, and blood work. We can do routine, wellness exams, vaccines, all the good stuff. And then we will still be going on farm calls too.

Having gone to college and vet school in Kansas, Hennenfent says the plan always was to return to the area, which inspired its name.

“It was actually my dad’s idea. We were throwing around ideas and he said, ‘What about hometown? I mean, you’re coming back to where you came from. This is, these are your roots,’ and it just kind of fit,” says Hennenfent. “Our logo has a railroad trestle on it because Media is pretty iconic for the trestle. So, it just fell together.”

Hometown Veterinary Service will host an open house on Saturday, April 12th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information on the new clinic, visit their Facebook page, Hometown Veterinary Service, LLC.
