It is reorganization time at the Wednesday, April 30th West Central Board of Education meeting, as the new board members will be seated, informs Superintendent Stacey Day:
“That is our reorganization meeting after the school board elections. We have one board member who didn’t run again, Sara Bigger is ending her time on the board. She has been with us since 2017. Four total board members that were up for election, Sara didn’t rerun, but the other three did, so we will re-seat four people. Our new board member will be Mike Lenahan. He is kind of new in the sense that he has been on the board before. Then they will do officer elections, set our meeting dates for the next couple of years and come May, that is their first official meeting as the new board. They will hit the ground running as we have some big projects we are talking about and getting ready for and end of the year things.”
With under twenty days left in the school year for West Central students, they will be jam packed with prom on May 3rd, elementary spring concerts on May 6th, high school scholarship and awards night May 7th, and graduation Sunday, May 18th. The final day of school is Wednesday, May 21st.
