Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 20, 2025:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys track and field athlete, Jackson Thomas. Jackson had three great meets against stiff competition. He won the discus event at the Monmouth-Roseville Titan Invite and was runner up in the same event at the Dale Collis Invite in Galva and Galesburg Silver Streak Invite against class 2A and 3A throwers. Jackson broke the school record in Galva with a toss of ‘160 “6.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Nolan Jenks. Nolan was outstanding at the plate in four Red Storm wins. He went 9-for-14, including a combined 8-for-11 against Princeville, Stark County and West Central. Nolan showed some power, as well, banging out four doubles and driving in an amazing 12 runs.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Addie Seitz. In six games last week, Addie was phenomenal at the plate and even better in the pitching circle. She went 8-for-14, with three doubles and ten rbis on offense. Addie tossed 31 strikeouts in 22 innings for the week, while throwing not one, but two, no-hitters. Earlier this season, Addie went over the 800 strikeout mark for her career.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is sophomore softball player, Evelin Guel. In a busy week of six games, Evelin led her team in hits, with eight, and runs scored for the week, with six. She showed her speed, swiping an also team-leading total of four bases, all while playing the demanding shortstop position. In a double header against Rock Falls, she was 5-for-7 and crossed the plate four times.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Justin Keener. Justin was a great contributor on offense and on the pitching mound last week. He went 5-for-13 at the plate, with two stolen bases. Justin pitched seven innings against a strong Bureau Valley ball club, giving up just three hits, one earned run, with seven strikeouts.
