Chargers Head to Rock Valley for Region 4 Quarterfinals

The Sandburg softball team qualified for the Region 4 Division II tournament and will play in the quarterfinal round starting Friday at Rock Valley.

The Chargers (13-37) are the No. 16 seed in the tournament and will play in a quarterfinal tourney with No. 1-seeded site host Rock Valley, No. 8 seed Milwaukee Tech and No. 9 seed Kishwaukee.

Sandburg opens at 10 a.m. Friday against Rock Valley, which is ranked ninth in the latest NJCAA Division II poll. The winner plays at 4 p.m. Friday against the winner of Milwaukee Tech vs. Kishwaukee, while the loser will play an elimination game at 2 p.m. Friday.

The winner of the double-elimination tournament advances to the Region 4 finals May 9-10 at Black Hawk.

Friday
Game 1: No. 1 Rock Valley vs. No. 16 Sandburg, 10 a.m.
Game 2: No. 8 Milwaukee Tech vs. No. 9 Kishwaukee, noon
Game 3: Loser 1 vs. loser 2, 2 p.m.
Game 4: Winner 1 vs. winner 2, 4 p.m.
Saturday
Game 5: Winner 3 vs. loser 4, 10 a.m.
Game 6: Winner 4 vs. winner 5, noon
Game 7 (if necessary): Winner 6 vs. loser 6, 2 p.m.
