Mr. Daniel “Danny” E. Martin, 68, of Galesburg, Illinois died 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Galesburg.

He was born September 20, 1956, in Galesburg to Paul E. and Doris L. (Richey) Martin.

Surviving are two brothers, Paul S. (and Linda) Martin of Galesburg, and Allen D. “Butch” Martin, Sr. of Galesburg, three sisters, Carolyn A. (and Alonzo) Treadway of Kayser, Missouri, Jo Anna L. (and Dave) Dixon of Galesburg, and Monica S. (and Leroy) Bledsoe of Galesburg, an aunt, Nelda Schisler of Springfield, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Martin, and his stepfather, Donald E. Ebbing.

Danny graduated from Galesburg High School in 1975.  He was in lawn care maintenance for several years and was a custodian for Marigold Health Care Center.  He was a member of the former Faith Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg.  He was a volunteer at the Salvation Army in Galesburg.  Danny enjoyed fishing, listening to Country Music, and watching Western Movies, especially John Wayne Movies.  He was fascinated with trains and collected antique items.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially taking trips to Branson, Missouri with his mother, Doris. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
