United Celebrating Teachers and Staff

It is National Teacher Appreciation Week. As another school year is coming to a close, United Superintendent Tom Hawkins is grateful for the teachers and staff in their district:

“I think the main reason a lot of people get into teaching is because some teacher inspired them and really said this was a great thing to do. When you see the moment come with a student, that makes it all worthwhile, so I think that is one of the main reasons. People will say that you get into teaching for the summers off, you do get time off in the summer, but your days are long, and you do still come in and check into the school and are constantly working on your craft all summer long. We want to thank our teachers at United for all that they do for our students and the staff. We really appreciate all the hard work they put forth.”

Meanwhile, those United seniors going on to play collegiate athletics will have their Signing Day on May 7th and students enrolling into a Galesburg Area Vocational Central training program will sign next week.
