Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 11, 2025:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Nick Huston. With a hit against Putnam County, Nick extended his streak to 12 straight games with at least one hit. He went 7-for-12 last week, scoring seven runs. Nick is hitting an amazing .524 for the season, leading the team in several other categories, as well.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore baseball player, Chance Stewart. Chance went 9-for-16 at the plate last week, adding to an already impressive season. He has scored 48 runs, which leaves him just four runs from setting a new program single-season record. Chance has already set the program record for pitching saves, with five.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore softball player, Becca Hinshaw. Becca has been outstanding all season long for the state-ranked Heat and especially good last week. She went 11-for-18, with four doubles, nine runs scored and three stolen bases…..all tops on the club. For the season, Becca is hitting an amazing .552.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Jameson Dickerson. In four games last week, Jameson tied for the team lead in hits with six, with two of those for extra bases. He also scored three runs, while driving in two more. In a lop-sided win over Reed-Custer, Jameson showed his speed on the base paths, going 3-for-4 with a triple and a stolen base.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Drey Anderson. Drey used his hitting and pitching arm to help the Tornadoes to an undefeated week. He batted .300 with a double, 3 rbis and a pair of stole bases. Drey pitched 6 innings, giving up only one earned run with three strikeouts in a solid win over the Lewistown/North Fulton co-op.
