The deadline for entry into the Buchanan Center for the Arts local exhibition of Art from the HeARTland is coming up on Saturday, June 28th, shares Program Coordinator Rebecca Quick:

“Art from the HeARTland in our local exhibition with artwork from anyone in the area that are local artists. The deadline is 2 pm on June 28th. Five dollars per entry for up to three pieces for members and ten dollars per entry for up to three pieces for non-members. This year’s Art from the HeARTland juror, Elizabeth Pappas, will have the honor of judging a new award category. The award is given in memory of long-time Tromp-As-Writ Weavers Guild weaver Mary Lynn Shoemaker. In celebration of her weaving background, the award will be given to the artists’ work that shows exemplary skills in the fiber arts. Judging will consider use of color, pattern, design, and meticulous attention to detail.”

Another event taking place at the Buchanan Center for the Arts on June 27th and 28th is the Murder Mystery Dinner Party. Dinner and a show begins at 7 pm each night. Tickets can be purchased at the BCA.
