The school year may be over, but the Board of Education members continue to meet throughout the summer to prep for the next year. United Superintendent Tom Hawkins shares actions that were recently approved:

“Every year, every district has to do what is called a ‘Consolidated District Plan’ that basically allows you to apply for grants; that was approved. Also, just some basic items, we did a PaCE Framework for our Junior High kids, which is Pathways for Career Education, something the state says that has to happen. Our High School Framework was adopted by our Board last fall. We had some handbook changes and an intergovernmental agreement with Galesburg High School and Monmouth-Roseville for swimming and that went through.”

Additionally, Superintendent Hawkins informs that for this next school year, the Board of Education meetings will be rotating locations throughout the district, starting at United North Elementary in Alexis, Thursday, July 10th.
