Galesburg Legion Post 285 Baseball Qualifies for Championship Round at Battle of Omaha

The Galesburg Post 285 American Legion baseball team ran their overall record to (9-2) after winning their final pool play game on Tuesday morning at the Battle of Omaha Tournament in Nebraska. Post 285 wins their pool with a (3-0) record following their 4-3 win over WBS Colts from the state of Washington. Tyree Taylor scattered six hits over six innings on the mound. Taylor gives up three earned runs with seven strikeouts. United High School graduate Lance Baker gets the save with a perfect top of the 7th, getting all three outs by way of strikeouts. Jameson Dickerson had three of the eight total hits for Galesburg. A-Town’s Owen Timmons had a pair of hits, as well. Post 285 broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 6th as A-town’s Dawson Fenton scored on a groundout by Tyree Taylor. Galesburg will now take on Central Oregon Generals on Wednesday morning at 8am in the tournament final four semifinals. The championship game is set for 1:00 Wednesday afternoon.
