The contractor Porter Brothers plans to remove the sidewalk in front of city hall tomorrow (6/5). They will be removing the sidewalk from East of the main entrance heading towards N 1st Street. Once removed they will follow up with compacted rock for foot traffic. The concrete remaining in front of the main entrance will stay in place for as long as possible. It is recommended to use the NE quadrant to enter City Hall for the next few weeks. I will follow up when the contractor starts pouring concrete sidewalks on East Broadway.
Overall Project Progression-
Porter Brothers plan to finish up and open the rest of S. Main over the next 1-2 weeks.
Heavy demolition and construction on East Broadway over the next several weeks.
Market Alley demolition and construction after East Broadway.
SE Quadrant after Market Alley.
Center Circle demolition and construction.
Asphalt and pavement paint.
Landscaping, lighting, signage, brickwork, etc will be taking place throughout the above-mentioned operations.
