At the recent Warren County Board meeting the jail project was a main topic of discussion; a resolution shifting $1 million to the jail fund was approved and the Board is collecting Requests for Proposals to place bids on the project, explains Board Chairman Mike Pearson:
“We have companies applying to bid. Those applications are due July 2nd at three o’clock. Then we will take the applications to bid, review them with the committees; hopefully we can get that done in a week. The goal is to pick two to six, I believe is the guideline. They will give us an actual bid at that point in time with initial blueprints. They have 45 days to do that.”
Pearson informs construction on the new Warren County Law Enforcement Center is anticipated to take place next spring. As for the steps at the Warren County Courthouse, Hutchinson Engineering is consulting on the project and collecting Request for Proposal for the steps, which are used for emergency evacuations.
In additional Warren County Board news, effective July 1, 2025, Board Member Pat Spears will resign his seat in District 1.
