The Buchanan Center for the Arts Board of Directors proudly announces a new Executive Director: Ann Tenold Rogan. She begins her new position on July 14, 2025.

When asked about her recent homecoming, Ms. Rogan explained: “Returning to my hometown of Monmouth is more than a personal move—it feels destined. I have long known Monmouth as a place with a vibrant and under-celebrated cultural scene. You don’t need to know anything about any type of art to enjoy it—it’s just a chance to be together, to see something new, and maybe feel a little more connected to this place we all call home. The center isn’t just for artists—it’s for your kids, our neighbors, all our stories. I know it’s something special for our community.”

Ann graduated from Monmouth High School in 1988 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Augustana College. Her graduate degrees include a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ann has served as grant writer for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisiana, and the Executive Director of the Staunton Performing Arts Center in Staunton, Virginia. Most recently, she administers the American Frontier Culture Foundation in Staunton, Virginia, from 2009 to the present.

Ms. Rogan has extensive work in strategic planning, marketing and public relations, grant-writing, nonprofit funding opportunities, capital fundraising, budget development, organization administration, and performance measurement.

The entire Board of the BCA welcomes Ann back to Monmouth, and we hope the community will welcome her too.
