The City of Monmouth is excited to support the Maple City Street Machines Cruise Night/Car Show on August 1st and are dedicated to making this event a success while keeping disruptions to local businesses minimal.
To support this, the downtown construction project is adjusting its schedule, with the completion date shifting from July 18th to early August due to some unforeseen challenges.
• East Broadway concrete work is nearly complete and will open in the next 1-2 weeks, ensuring smooth access.
• Sidewalk demolition/construction will begin from ISO Threads to Market Alley and from the Pattee Foundation Building to Market Alley Wines, designed to keep businesses accessible.
• New ADA ramps will be constructed in front of businesses to enhance accessibility.
• Market Alley will remain fully open for the car show, ensuring everyone can enjoy the event.
• Smaller projects around the square will follow once sidewalks and ramps are finished.
After the car show, demolition and construction will start in Market Alley. The SE Quadrant will close starting Monday to support these efforts, but we’ll ensure all businesses remain accessible during walkway construction.
