The Monmouth College track and field teams both earned All-Academic Team status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week. In addition, four individuals earned All-Academic Athlete status.
The Monmouth women’s team posted an impressive 3.62 GPA for the spring semester, easily surpassing the 3.10 requirement. Except for the COVID year, the women have won the award every season since 2018. Meanwhile, the men’s team posted a 3.12 GPA to earn the honor after also winning the Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship in May. The men’s team last picked up the USTFCCCA honor in 2023.
Individually, student-athletes must post at least a 3.30 GPA for the semester while also ranking among the top 50 individuals in their event or qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships. This year the Scots had four individual winners: Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois), Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois), Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) and Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois).
Boley earned All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA in all four of her seasons at Monmouth while Braun also earned the individual honor in 2024, The four individual honors are the most for the Fighting Scots since the 2021 season.
