Summer may be winding down, but Galesburg Parks and Recreation is still keeping busy. A handful of summer programs are still running for a few more weeks, and there are two fun events for families coming up this weekend. On Friday night, head out to the Lake Storey Beach for a showing of Moana 2. The event starts at 7 pm and runs until about 10:30. Then on Saturday, the Mobile Playground will be at Inbinder Park from 1 to 3 pm, with free games and activities for the kids. Angie Buchen, City of Galesburg Recreation Director, shares what else is going on the rest of summer.
“We’ve got the water park open for the weekdays, through the 10th and then starting the 11th we’ll be only open on the weekend, so it is close to the end of the season, but we got the beach open, we got all sorts of programs. So we’re going strong.”
