Lia Barraza Sloan, an eleven-year-old from Galesburg, was crowned the 2025 Junior Miss Illinois, which is modeled off the Miss America Program where young ladies ages six to thirteen compete in interview, an on-stage question, talents, outfit of choice, and party dress. Another part of the competition is being involved in a community service project, which Lia shares hers benefits Rainbow Riders:

“My community service project is Hands and Hooves Working Together to support Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Horseback Riding. I have been riding at Rainbow Riders with my brother for two years now and he has grown in confidence and has been able to talk more and now he doesn’t stop talking. I have raised $3,000 so far.”

Mercer County native Elsie Bieri was crowned the 2025 Li’l Miss Illinois competition, which was held in Muscatine, Iowa in conjunction with the Miss Iowa Youth Program.
