Graham Health System, an independently owned rural health provider, entered the Galesburg market in 2022. In just a few short years, it has expanded to operate four clinics across the city, and that growth isn’t slowing down. Last week, Graham Health System broke ground on a new Ambulatory Surgery Center. The project is a $5.1 million investment, with an additional $1.5 million allocated for advanced technology upgrades. Eric Rahn with Graham Health shares more on the services that will be available once the project is complete.

“Once that kind of gets going, right now, what we know for sure is, we’ll be able to do EMT surgeries there. So you think about tubes that kids get in their ears and those sorts of things, we’ll be able to handle all of those in Galesburg. We also have a new doctor, Dr Joyner, that does gynecological procedures that he’ll be able to do in that surgery center as well. Orthopedic surgeries, eye procedures, so a lot of those kind of things. But I think the best way to talk about it is really to think about any surgery that doesn’t require staying overnight in the hospital. We’ll be able to start doing those here now.”

The Surgery Center is expected to be completed in about 14 months, eying an opening around September or October of 2026. For more details or to see a full list of services, visit grahamhealthsystem.org.
