The application deadline for Jamieson Community Center’s STARS program (Students to Arrive Ready for School) is quickly approaching. Executive Director Nancy Mowen explains the process:

“If you have a Warren County student in kindergarten through eighth grade and you are at 185 percent of poverty or below; for a family of four that is about $49,000, if your income is below that, then you can apply. Call our office at 309-734-4251 or you can also stop in at 1120A South Main at our Monmouth Community Resource Center. Tre will assist you there. The application takes less than five minutes to complete and then we pack up the backpacks for the kids that contain all of the items of the teacher’s list, for their specific teacher.”

Application deadline for the STARS program is Friday, July 25th, which is sponsored by Community National Bank and area churches.
