Monmouth College Volleyball Team Earns AVCA Academic Award

MONMOUTH, ILL. (07/21/2025) The Monmouth College volleyball team earned the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award with a GPA over 3.3 for the 2024-25 academic year. The Scots have earned the honor from the AVCA in 12 of the last 14 seasons.

The 2024 team made history on the court with 19 wins and a return to the Midwest Conference tournament.Along the way they set team milestones for home winning streaks to start a season, ended droughts against multiple conference opponents and set numerous individua match records. The Scots had four players make the MWC All-Conference team while the coaching staff, lead by Derrick Broekemier, was named MWC Coaching Staff of the Year. In the classroom, the volleyball team had four players named to the CSC Academic All-District team and 12 of the 19 eligible players were named MWC Academic All-Conference last week.

The 2025 season under new coach Hope Neargarder gets underway on Friday, August 29 with the Marian University Tournament in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The home opener is set for Wednesday, September 10 against Millikin.
