Hoge Wins Overall Champion of the Breeding Goat Show

Nora Hoge exhibited the Overall Champion Doe at this year’s Breeding Goat Show with her Crossbred Doe. Haley Daugherty exhibited the Reserve Overall Champion with her Purebred Doe.

Hoge breaks down how she prepared to show at this year’s fair.

“We work days and days and days, exercising, feeding, washing, every single thing matters with having livestock,” says Nora. “Then we pack all of the things we need for the show: brush, blower, everything. Then we get it in our show box, loaded on the trailer. Then we get all our animals, and we’re headed to the fair.”

Hoge Wins Overall Champion of the Market Goat Show

Nolan Hoge exhibited the Overall Champion Market Goat at this year’s Market Goat Show. Nash Lowderman of Macomb exhibited the Reserve Overall Champion.

Nolan has been a member of 4-H for the last nine years, where he has had the opportunity to exhibit a variety of different livestock species.

“I’ve been shown ever since I was little, and obviously you get to start County Fair at a certain age, but I’ve been shown for a long time, and I love it. I show pigs, sheep, cattle, and goats. It’s a lot of hard work, but I have fun doing it,” shares Nolan.
