The Warren County Health Department has launched a new Medical Reserve Corp program. Administrator Jenna Link explains how you can become involved:
“Over the years we have always used volunteers at the Health Department. This is actually a federal recognition Medical Reserve Corp, even though you don’t have to have a medical background to participate. It is basically a group of volunteers that we are pulling in and doing some training ahead of time, so that say a tornado comes through or another pandemic; we talked about have a team do a first aid station at the Prime Beef Festival or the Car Show, just things like that. If you are interested, contact us and we will get you signed up. We do require a background check and then there is a list of certain trainings that we will require you to go through before you can be used as a volunteer.”
Administrator Link informs their Family Case Management program will transition to a Better Birth Outcomes program that will work with pregnant mothers and infants up to the age of six that are high risk, making sure they connect with available services and medical providers.
