The West Central Board of Education has approved the amended budget for Fiscal Year 2025. Superintendent Stacey Day informs they continue to pay close attention to transportation costs:
“It is always a relief to have that part of the process over and at this time last year with my Board, I was saying that our fund balances look really good, our budget is in really good shape, but transportation is going to be the one fund that we have to pay really close attention to. So much of it is out of our control and what we have to do and the costs of things, that is the one where money is coming in and money coming out where we are looking at our EBF funding. Typically, that goes into our Education Fund and because of the transportation costs, some of that is going to have to go in our Transportation Fund to help offset that.”
Superintendent Day reports the West Central Board of Education also approved the district Health Insurance Policy for this next year, which was around an eighteen percent increase overall.
