Each year, the Farm Progress Show continues to be the nation’s largest outdoor farm show, offering visitors the opportunity to see the latest in ag technology and innovations, which can be taken back to the family farm.
Matt Jungmann, Farm Progress Show Manager, shares that even in a down ag economy, agricultural innovation keeps moving forward- which visitors will see firsthand at the show.
“Companies keep coming out with new product introductions, and it’s a great opportunity to keep up on what’s new in the industry,” shares Jungmann. “In addition to the exhibitors and the services, it’s kind of a gathering of the industry, there will be a lot of politicians there, a lot of ag economists, a lot of Wall Street there on the show site The Farm Progress Show, since we’ve been going to Decatur for 20 years, that that permanent site strategy, the evolution of the event, it has turned a lot more into an ag community/ ag industry gathering, versus just a Midwest farm event.”
The 2025 Farm Progress Show is taking place in Decatur, Illinois, from August 26 to the 28th. New to the show will be a new designated area for drone demonstrations- the Drone Zone.
“The rules for drones change constantly; the FAA is always coming out with new policies and rules,” says Jungmann. “To be able to show them off to a crowd, there are some very specific rules. So we’re going to put up a tent that will have clear-sided walls on it, so you can be pretty close to the drone and still have a barrier between you. And that’s what the FAA wants: a barrier between the attendee and the actual drone flying.”
Also new to the 2025 Farm Progress Show is a partnership with John Deere to provide 90 acres of WiFi coverage to the show site to keep attendees connected while at the show.
