As an added method for security, rescues, and monitoring events, local law enforcement has access to utilize drones, informs Henderson County Sheriff Matt Link:
“Like the car show, fairs, parades, any gathering where there is going to be a lot of people to monitor those people and even before that event starts. We can monitor where things are at, how traffic is flowing, how people are flowing, just for that added safety aspect of it. There are search and seizure laws we always have to abide by to not violate peoples’ constitutional rights, but there are some things on that aspect and the criminal side too where it comes in very handy.”
Meanwhile, Sheriff Link reports it has been a year since inmates have been housed at the Henderson County Jail due to staffing shortages, resulting in inmates being transported and housed in the Warren County Jail or McDonough County Jail.
