The Monmouth City Council has approved to enter two redevelopment agreements with EKS Futures LLC for the rehabilitation of 413 South Main Street and 409 South 1st Street, reports City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher:

“The first redevelopment agreement is with EKS Futures LLC, which is Quality Roofing Pro. It is for the property at 413 South Main Street. The developer is looking to invest about $100,000 in the acquisition and rehabilitation of that building. The renovations will result in a warehouse space, as well as a small office space. It is a performance based reimbursement. The second redevelopment agreement was also with EKS Futures for a property located at 409 South 1st Street, which is the old Lighthouse Baptist Church. This is for a $140,000. This would be their main office operation for the company. It too a performance reimbursement project.”

Additionally, City Council approved bids for the court ordered demolition of homes at 120 East 9th Avenue and 416 East Franklin Avenue, where funds from the Neighborhood Restoration Grant will be utilized.
