The Monmouth College Fighting Scots football squad has already started practicing in anticipation of the upcoming season. The Scots have been picked to win the Midwest Conference in a poll of coaches around the league. Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva says that the team will have to replace a plethora of key contributors from last season’s (8-3) conference runners up but it’s always a reload, not a rebuild, situation for head coach Chad Braun
The Scots will open the regular season on the road on Saturday, September 6th at nationally-ranked Wartburg College for a non-conference affair. Before the regular season commences, the Scots will go to Coe College on the 23rd for a joint practice and then have their annual Red-White Scrimmage at April Zorn Memorial Stadium under the lights on Saturday, August 30th.
