The 2025 Western Big 6 Conference Football Coaches “Kickoff” Banquet sponsored by Edwards Wealth Management, hosted by the Rock Island-Milan Booster Club is this Sunday, August 24th at the Quad Cities Botanical Center!
Featured speakers will be the Head Coaches from the Western Big 6 Conference. New Alleman head coach Tom Barber will join Shawn Hickey of Galesburg, Matthew Furlong of Geneseo, Rick Little of Quincy, Mike Morrissey of Moline, Jonathan Schlemmer of Sterling, Nick Welch of United Township and Fritz Dieudonne of Rock Island as featured speakers. The coaches will trade facts, figures, jokes, and predictions as they prepare for the 2025 gridiron season which begins August 29th.
The evening will start with a social time for fans at 6:00pm with a cash bar available. A catered buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 followed by the program which is always full of good-natured fun, pre-season predictions, and the humor of former WQAD-TV Sports Director, Matt Randazzo, who will handle the emcee duties. Mediacom will be on hand to tape the program for later broadcast.
Admission to this fun-filled evening is open to all football parents and fans of local prep football with many wearing the colors of their favorite Western Big 6 school. Seating is limited to 225 on a “first come” basis. Tickets are $15 and are available through the head coaches at each school, athletic directors at all Western Big 6 schools, and if tickets remain, sold at the door from 5:30pm until sold out.
