On Tuesday, August 19th,Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting its annual meeting and pond tour. Shawnee Sheehan, resource conservationist, shares that the event will include an electrofishing survey demonstration.

“I highly recommend coming and watching and learning a little bit from Austin and his crew over there about what an electrofishing survey does and how they’re able to interpret your management of your pond with that, “ says Shehann. “We’ll also have an actual fish fry, not of the fish that we are shocking during that event, but fish that have already been captured. The event is sponsored by American Farmland Trust. Midwest Conservation Agronomist Torey Colburn will give a presentation on cover crops and nutrient management.
