Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank is proud to mark its 10-year anniversary of providing essential diapers and supplies to families across West Central Illinois. Since its founding in 2014 by Executive Director Lee Ann Porter, Loving Bottoms has distributed more than 3.8 million diapers to families in need.
Each day in West Central Illinois, thousands of parents face the heartbreaking reality that they cannot afford one of their child’s most essential needs: a clean diaper. The cost of diapers has risen 48% since 2020, and today diaper need affects 1 in 2 families nationwide. Loving Bottoms was founded to change that reality—and has spent the past decade working tirelessly to provide dignity, health, and hope to children and caregivers alike.
To celebrate this milestone, the organization invites businesses, schools, faith groups, and individuals to host diaper drives throughout September. The anniversary celebration will culminate in a 10th Anniversary Open House:

The evening will feature light refreshments, hands-on diaper wrapping activities, volunteer sign-ups, and at 5:30 p.m. there will be a special presentation, “10 Years in 10 Minutes,” reflecting on the community’s impact over the past decade.
Guests are encouraged to bring their diaper drive collections and donations the night of the event; those who do will be entered into a raffle for a prize valued at over $100.
“This anniversary is about celebrating the thousands of families we’ve been able to help over the past decade—and the incredible community that has made it all possible,” said Lee Ann Porter, Executive Director of Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank. “We can’t wait to open our doors, wrap some diapers together, and welcome new friends into our mission.”
How to Get Involved
● Host a Diaper Drive:
o In-Person Drive: Host it at a location like your school, workplace, or community group during the month of September and deliver to our open house on Monday, September 29 between 5 – 8 p.m.
o Virtual Drive: Set up an online wishlist – especially diapers sizes 4 – 6 – through platforms like Walmart, Target, or Amazon. We can send instructions or even guide you through the setup process via Zoom.
● Make a Donation:
o Use our secure online donation platform to enable monetary contributions directly to Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank. This allows supporters who can’t donate in-kind to contribute financially. https://secure.givelively.org/donate/loving-bottoms-diaper-bank/decade-ofdiapers
