Belle Thompson, a 2022 graduate and former standout athlete at Monmouth-Roseville, is now attending the University of Notre Dame, where she is majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics with a minor in Education, Schooling, and Society. During her time at Notre Dame, Thompson has been part of the Fighting Irish football program, working as a team manager. She shares what a typical practice and gameday looks like for her:

“I work with the wide receiver position group, so we go to all of the practices and all of the games. At practice, I help with all of the receiver drills; I help set them up and run them- I have been thrown in and had to throw for a couple of drills. During our offensive or team periods, I brought the ball or helped chart all the plays down, and make sure everything runs smoothly,” shares Thompson. “Then during games, I work as a ball girl, so I am just standing on the sideline waiting for the ref to look at me to throw a new ball.”

Thompson is on track to graduate from Notre Dame in May of 2026. She says she knows she wants to pursue a career in statistics but is still deciding whether she’ll follow a corporate path or continue down the sports route.
