Animal shelters are busting at the seams right now with healthy dogs and cats ready for adoption. Erin Buckmaster with the Knox County Humane Society says, please don’t buy a dog but rather adopt one:
“We have a whole new addition on the back that was $17,000, just to get some outside areas to put some dogs. It is overwhelming right now and it isn’t just us. Please go to your local shelter, come to our shelter, come save a life because they are really good animals at the shelter. Anymore to buy a pet, some of them run from hundreds to thousands of dollars.”
Buckmaster says noon to 4 pm is a great time to come and adopt a pet at the Knox County Humane Society. All pets already are up to date on their shots as part of the adoption process.
