As the temperatures start to cool and the tractors start to hit the fields, the fall agritourism industry is back in full swing. At the Belted Cow Orchard, it means apple products are hitting the shelves. Marci Meyers, owner at the Belted Cow, shares that new this season is Pixie Crunch apples.
“New this year means that they’re in full production. They’ve been in the ground for a couple of years. We plant them in March, and they’re just little bitty, and then we have to wait five, six years for them to actually produce and get into full production,” shares Marci. “So those are in full production. This year, we had 500 of the trees that I was just talking about, the pixie crunch, and so there are a lot of them, and they just have a wonderful flavor.”
In 2024, the Belted Cow Orchard began pressing apples for cider on site.
