Candidates started to file their paperwork to run for political offices that will be voted upon in the March 17, 2026 Primary Election. A total of 17 persons filed paperwork with the Knox County Clerk’s office to run for offices from Precinct Committeeperson to Countywide Offices. The following persons filed for Countywide office on the first day: Knox County Sheriff – Jack Harlan Jr. Knox County Treasurer – Jerrie Ann Walters (Republican). Knox County Clerk and Recorder – Scott G. Erickson (Republican) and Johan Henrikson (Democrat).
The following persons filed for County Board District positions on the first day: District 1 – Jaclyn Smith-Esters (Democrat). District 2 – Bob Bondi (Republican). District 3 – Pamela Davidson (Democrat). District 4 – Bradley Hix (Republican). District 5 – Brian Friedrich (Republican).
For Precinct Committeepersons, the Democrats have 6 persons who filed on the first day. The Republican Party had 2 persons file on the first day.
Candidates have until the close of business on November 3, 2025 to file their paperwork with the Knox County Clerk’s office to be eligible to run in the March 2026 Primary Election.
